Synopsis

Wicked tells the amazing story of Elphaba, a green skinned witch entering Shiz University for the first time. Galinda, a popular blonde hair student was assigned by the school’s headmistress Madame Morrible as Elphaba’s room mate. These two very smart witches, who are polar opposites in terms of personalities, clashed at first. Galinda is a bubbly, friendly, and well-liked witch while Elphaba has a sarcastic personality. In the meantime, Elphaba gains the adoration of Madame Morrible for her natural talent in witchcraft, making Galinda a little jealous. When a practical joke went wrong and Elphaba was humiliated in front of the whole class, Galinda had a change of heart and danced with Elphaba in front of all her friends. This was the start of a beautiful friendship. But things take a turn and the friendship is at risk due to political unrest, the two witches having the same love interest and different viewpoints. This production is brought together by some of the most talented minds in the Broadway circuit. The story features the book by Winnie Holzman, with music and lyrics by legendary composer Stephen Schwartz.
